 MINUTES OF THE

 HIGHLAND OAKS HOMEOWNERS ASSOCIATION

A regular meeting of the full association membership of the above association was called to order on December 14, 1999 at  7:10 p.m. by president Steve Hammel at the Clark County REMC building, Sellersburg, Indiana. Officers present were the President and Secretary.

1.     VOTE.  The vote taken via mailbox poll passed on both issues. A quorum for this vote was valid since every resident received a voting form and was thus ‘present’ for the vote. Forms not returned were counted as abstaining from the vote. 31 forms were returned.

Annual fees will be waived for the Association officers beginning in 2000.

- 23 in favor, 8 opposed

Officer terms will be limited to 2 years. Persons may serve multiple terms in the
Same office, but not consecutively. President and Secretary shall rotate off on
July 1 while the Vice-President and Treasurer will rotate out on January 1.

-         29 in favor, 2 opposed

2.     ASSOCIATION ISSUES.

-         Streets are deteriorating on Highland Oaks Drive at the intersection with Weatherby and in a few other areas. We aren’t sure if this is an issue that Furnish is responsible for or the county (since these streets have the 2nd & final blacktop layer).

-         As far as Furnish is concerned, the park area is ‘done’. Anything further we want done we will just have to do ourselves.

-         Some trees at the entry will need to be replaced next year.

-         A sample violation form-letter was distributed. This letter may be used for residents found to be in violation of the restrictions.

-         Furnish is building a house at 4218 Aberdeen identical to the one at 4216 (next door).

-         Lee Snyder is concerned about the electrical box on a post behind his house. He can’t find anyone that claims ownership of it and it had wires running across his property. He ended up cutting the wires because they were interfering with his ability to mow his yard.

-         A question was raised if our Association, in conjunction with other area Associations, could petition the county to add a stoplight at the intersection of Chapel Lane and Charlestown Road (also at Grant Line Road and Mel Smith).

3.     OFFICERS. The new officers taking over on January 1, 2000 will be:

                        President:                               Warren Duffett
                        Vice-President:                    Robert Headrick
                        Secretary:                               Lea Ann Vaal
                        Treasurer:                              Mike Johnson

The meeting adjourned at 7:50pm. The next meeting will be scheduled by the new officers.
