 MINUTES OF THE

 HIGHLAND OAKS HOMEOWNERS ASSOCIATION

A regular meeting of the full association membership of the above association was called to order on March 10, 1998 at  7:10 p.m. by president Steve Hammel. This meeting was held at the Clark County REMC building, Sellersburg, Indiana.

This was the first of 4 quarterly meetings scheduled for 1998.

1.     QUORUM.  A quorum for the vote was declared present based on the presence of 60% of the existing homeowners (21 present of 34 current residents).

2.     ASSOCIATION DUES. Steve Hammel provided various information about the proposed finances which the Association would be required to cover for 1998 and future years. He put to a vote a motion which had been distributed to all residents earlier in the year concerning the raising of Association dues to $100/year. The residents voted to raise the dues to $100 by a count of 18 (yes) to 3 (no).

3.     1998 HOME EXPO. Greg Furnish provided information about the upcoming Home Expo to be held in Highland Oaks.

n      Wind Dance Farms withdrew from the Expo. Highland Oaks will be only site.

n      4 houses have already been sold. 12 have been started.

n      The TumbleBus will be on site both weekends free for children of visitors.

n      A tent with vendor booths will be located at the Expo’s entrance.

n      A 5 foot paved walking trail will be prepared in the 5 acre park. It will be handicap accessible.

n      Lots are selling great in Highland Oaks.

n      July 10th will be opening night for the Expo. Show will run through July 19th.

n      The finish coat of blacktop will be put on all streets  soon (prior to the Expo).

n      Phase III of Highland Oaks has been somewhat accelerated. The success of the Expo will determine its future. The area in phase III will not be ‘logged’. Only those trees that are necessary will be taken to make room for the new streets.

4.     BLOCK SALE. Jeannie Hammel proposed organizing a block sale the weekend after Derby.
