 MINUTES OF THE

 HIGHLAND OAKS HOMEOWNERS ASSOCIATION

A regular meeting of the full association membership of the above association was called to order on March 9, 1999 at  7:10 p.m. by president Steve Hammel. This meeting was held at the Clark County REMC building, Sellersburg, Indiana.

This was the first quarterly meeting scheduled for 1999. All officers were present.

1.     REGIONAL ISSUES.  Sewer rates were discussed and it was suggested that a petition be circulated among our own and other area homeowners associations to get signatures opposing the high rates.

2.     ASSOCIATION ISSUES. Steve has received 7 or 8 bids for landscaping work at the front entrance & park. The Headricks will evaluate the bids and make a recommendation. Some ‘abandoned trucks’ were moved after Steve put signs on them saying that they would be towed. A suggestion was made for a ‘clean up’ day in the park to gather construction trash that has blown or been dumped there.  Residents were reminded to keep pets contained (someone mentioned a stray dog in the area) and to watch the speed limits.

3.     PARK. Lots of discussion on issues with the park.

-         Need to get walking track fixed (blacktop is already pitted, weeds coming through)

-         Officers will try to meet with Terry Powell

-         Furnish doesn’t have a mailing address that we can find

-         Will try to obtain a mailing address for Furnish from Homebuilder’s Assoc.

-         Received $3,000 check from Furnish to cover street sign savings

-         Do we need special ‘restrictions’ put together for park usage ?

4.     RESTRICTIONS.

-         Lots of discussion regarding enforcement of restrictions, landscaping issues, etc.

-         Need to determine fees for violations.

-         Greg Reger, Warren Duffet, & Bob McIlvoy will put together a proposal for fees to be voted on.

5.     VARIOUS OTHER. Jeff Johnson has lots of gas light mantles available for purchase. A suggestion was made to invite a county councilman to attend a future meeting.

The meeting adjourned at 8:15pm. The next meeting will be held on June 8th
